Verity logo Verity search

The Verity search engine permit you make structured queries to search the full text of any paper in Acrobat PDF format collected in WoPEc.

You can do structured searches (to limit or expand the results). Consider the following:

The operator <NEAR> means to find, in the text of all papers, the word endogenous near the word growth. MTIT is a field (for Title). EconWPA provides an Excite search for WoPEc

This site is excited Search

Excite is an application webmasters and web server administrators can download and install on their web servers. It provides intelligent, concept-based searching of the HTML and ASCII documents which are locally stored on their web server.

Excite's retrieval technology uses advanced statistical methods to increase both recall (the number of relevant documents returned by the system) and precision (the number of returned documents that are relevant) . Each document collection is analyzed for statistical correlations between terms and documents. These correlations are used to define the "concepts" which facilitate the retrieval process.

Excite finds those documents that most closely map to conceptual meaning of a query. It also uses its determination of concepts to augment and improve the ranking of the returned documents, so that the most important documents are shown to the user first, even when thousands of documents are found.
